Mihai Rotaru (52 years old), the boss of the CSU Craiova team, a team in 5th place in the Superliga, threatened the journalist Ovidiu Ioanițoaia (79 years old), director of the publication Gazeta Sporturilor, writes the 3minute.net portal.
Ovidiu Ioanițoaia is 79 years old
It seemed that the era of threats disappeared in Romanian football. In 1999, angry that the press revealed that the selector Victor Pițurcă had served prison terms for the barbut, his protector at the time, the impresario Ioan Becali, told the journalists who “allowed” themselves to bring the subject back to the present day that “it makes them from the waist down”.
The days of the Cooperative in Romanian football are gone, but the teams from the defunct Division A have perpetuated in the current Superleague. Mihai Rotaru, the main shareholder of Olten, a choleric character who does not tolerate criticism, would have recently camped on the reputable Ovidiu Ioaniţoaia.
The angry Oltean added the director of Gazeta Sporturilor, a luminary of the Mioritic media, to the list of his enemies. It is known that Ioanițoaia is a declared fan of Craiova, but it is not clear which Craiova, Rotaru’s or Mititelu’s?
“He is the only club president who allowed himself to threaten me”
Ioanițoaia spoke on Radio Horion about the reason for the scandal that led to the freezing of any connection between him and Mihai Rotaru, the boss of CSU Craiova:
“I do not and will not talk to Rotaru. He is the only club president who has allowed himself to threaten me. He belongs to the category of those who believe that anyone who has a different opinion than his is his enemy. He also believes that he learned football very quickly. Just as other investors who appeared overnight have the impression that football is simple. It isn’t. Business is one thing, football is another!”, said the director of GSP in the FanFotbal show, produced by journalists Bogdan Berneanu and Marius Pârlea at the mentioned station.
Ovidiu Ioanițoaia avoided giving details about the mentioned conflict, but placed it in time: “It doesn’t matter anymore, it happened some months ago…“.
Showing fair play, the journalist found words of praise for Mihai Rotaru’s financier activity at CSU Craiova: “He had enough patience. He put his hand deep in his pocket, the preparation conditions, the organization, are top notch. The team owes him, not he the team!“.
In the past, Ovidiu Ioanițoaia also had a conflict with Gigi Becali, whose name he avoided writing in publishing houses for a long time.
