In short intervals or by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 40 – 50 liters/sqm and isolated over 60 liters/sqm.

Also, between 12:00 and 21:00, a yellow code for atmospheric instability in Transylvania, Maramureş, Banat, northwest of Moldova, as well as in the mountains will be in force. In these areas will be reported torrential showers, electric shocks, wind intensifications, vijections (bursts of 50 – 70 km/h) and on small areas of small and possibly average dimensions (1 – 3 cm). In short intervals and by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 20 – 30 liters/sqm and isolated over 40 – 50 liters/sqm.

Between August 17, at 9:00 pm – August 18, at 10:00, the counties, Maramureş, Suceava, Neamt and the mountain area of Bistriţa -Năsăud county will be under the orange code. In these areas, in short intervals or by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 40 – 50 liters/sqm and isolated over 60 liters/sqm.

In the same time, a yellow code of unstable weather will be in force in most Transylvania and locally in the center of Moldova.

Periods with atmospheric instability will be manifested by torrential showers, electric shocks, wind intensifications (gusts of 50 – 55 km/h) and isolated small hail (1 – 2 cm). In short intervals or by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 20 – 25 liters/sqm and isolated over 35 – 40 liters/sqm. The warned counties are: Sălaj, Cluj, Mureş, Harghita, Sibiu, Alba, Bacău and Iaşi, and partially, Bistriţa-Năsăud county.

Meteorologists have also issued a yellow code of similar phenomena for Oltenia, southern Transylvania, northwest of Muntenia, Southern Carpathians, valid Monday, between 12:00 and 23:00. In these areas there will be periods with atmospheric instability that will manifest through torrential showers, electric shocks, wind intensifications (gusts of 50 – 70 km/h) and isolated small and possibly average dimensions (1 – 3 cm). In short intervals of time or by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 20 – 30 lithi/sqm and on restricted areas of over 40 liters/sqm.

Yellow flood code on rivers. Which hydrographic basins are targeted

Inhga also issued an orange code warning and yellow flood code on rivers from 22 river basins, located on the radius of 28 counties, valid until Monday evening.

According to hydrologists, the hydrographic basins are targeted: Vişeu, Iza, Tur, Someş, Crasna, Crişul Repede, Crişul Negru, Crişul Alb, Mureş, Bega, Timiş, Bârzava, Moraviţa, Caraş, Nera, Cerna, Jiu, Olt, Argeş, Ialomiţa, Siret and Prut.
