A 43-year-old man was placed under judicial control after he threatened his former concubine to burn down her home. He was caught by the police right near the victim’s house, having a fuel container, a lighter and two knives on him.
“The defendant PCF, aged 43, on 27.11.2025, at around 7:50 a.m., appeared at the home of his ex-concubine in Covasna county, on which occasion, in the presence of a witness, he made indirect threats to her address, namely that he would set fire to the injured person’s home, later these threats came to the knowledge of the injured person, causing him a state of fear, between the parties there is an older state of conflict“, according to the statement sent by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Târgu Secuiesc Court, according to Covasna Media.
The police officers from Section 3 of the Covasna Rural Police identified the defendant within the radius of the victim’s place of residence, having on him a one-liter bottle containing fuel for cars, two knives and a lighter.
“We specify that the crime of threat is punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to one year or a fine, and to request the preventive measure of the preventive arrest of the defendant, it is necessary that the crime for which he is being investigated provides a prison sentence of 5 years or more“, the cited source also shows.
The individual was placed on Friday, November 28, under judicial control for 60 days.
The prosecutors explain that, legally, they could not request preventive arrest, since the crime of threatening provides for a punishment too small to allow this custodial measure.
