If the presidential elections were to take place next Sunday, Marcel Ciolacu (PSD) and George Simion (AUR) would be the candidates who would enter the second round, according to a survey conducted by Verifield, commissioned by USR.

The survey was conducted between November 1-6, 2024 and analyzed voting intentions from three perspectives: total sample, votes cast and votes cast by those who intend to actually vote, estimated at 65.4% of the sample, according to Gândul .
Marcel Ciolacu is in the lead, in all three analyzed scenarios, with an advantage over George Simion, the leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR).
What the detailed survey results look like
In the first variant – total sample, the PSD candidate leads with 20.6%, followed by George Simion (AUR) with 17.1%. Elena Lasconi, USR candidate, is in third place with 12.4%, and Mircea Geoană, independent candidate, gets 11.1%. Nicolae Ciucă, the PNL candidate, is in fifth place with only 7.4%.
9.1% of the total sample said they did not know or were undecided with whom they would vote, 3.6% said they would not vote, and another 3.6% did not provide an answer.
In the second option – votes castMarcel Ciolacu increases to 24.6%, while George Simion reaches 20.4%. Elena Lasconi gets a score of 14.9%, and Mircea Geoană rises to 13.2%. In this scenario, Nicolae Ciucă reaches 8.8%.
The third variant – votes cast by those who declare that they are going to vote (65.4% of the sample)shows Marcel Ciolacu at 25.9%, and George Simion at 21.2 percent, consolidating their leading positions in this race. Lasconi gets 15.7%, and Geoană remains at 13.2%, followed by Nicolae Ciucă with 8.5%.
