The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, said on Saturday that, at the moment, the candidate of the PSD-PNL alliance for the Capital City Hall is the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu, and a meeting of the coalition on this topic is to be held on Monday, reports Agerpres.

“The candidate, at the moment, is Cătălin Cristoiu. I said very clearly that, on Monday, we will form a coalition. I talked, as is used now, on WhatsApp with Mr. Cristoiu, I will talk by phone later. It is normal to keep a connection between us. I didn't have time to look in detail at yesterday's press conference (…) I am firmly convinced that the people of Bucharest will choose the best option”. said Ciolacu, present in Pitesti at the launch of PSD Argeş candidates in the local elections.
Asked by journalists if he would agree that the PSD-PNL alliance should no longer propose any candidate for the Capital City Hall, Ciolacu stated: “This is excluded. What can I tell you with certainty? The PSD and PNL alliance at the General City Hall of the Capital will have a single candidate (…) At this moment, we have a single candidate”.
In relation to Nicolae Ciucă's statement about the existence of a “Plan B” regarding the candidacy for the Capital City Hall, Ciolacu answered ironically that he also has one “Plan D”.
“Let's have the Monday coalition”he added.
“We talk, we communicate (with Cătălin Cîrstoiu – no). (…) Mr. Cîrstoiu is not a criminal, forgive me! (…) He is an exceptional doctor, he is a dean at UMF, a man who he built and built everything possible, he is in demand both in Romania and abroad for operations and he does not do simple operations. Let's be fair! I understand, he was at a clinic (…), but these things will we clarify them within the coalition”explained Ciolacu.
Asked by journalists if he thinks that doctor Cîrstoiu is incompatible, the PSD president says that he knows a person who is incompatible – Clotilde Armand.
“I didn't see anything, a decision by Mr. Cîrstoiu, I didn't see it! If ANI has a document, let him solve it! Let him close the investigations (…) We'll talk on Monday, it's that simple, it's right, I don't ask me to make decisions”Caiolacu added.
