Things were not done in secret, there is still very good communication between me and Mr. Nicolae Ciucă“, said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, when asked if the mayor of sector 3, Robert Negoiţă, could become the candidate of the PSD-PNL alliance for the Capital City Hall, instead of Cătălin Cîrstoiu.

I can't confirm, only that it is a very important moment. Bucharest is the capital of the country, in the last 4 years Bucharest has suffered a lot from underdevelopment and I think that we must show a great responsibility and we must fight with all our strength for Bucharest. Consequently, yes, even if until now I categorically refused, as long as the party will ask for it and the decision will be made, I will no longer refuse“, said Negoiţă, when asked if he is the replacement of Cătălin Cîrstoiu for the Capital City Hall.

He mentioned that there were several discussions on this topic, including in the alliance.

I would stop at this news – I am not against it. As long as it is considered that I can be useful, I am present because Bucharest is much too important for all of us. There were discussions including in the alliance, but up to this moment no decision has been taken. I don't know when the decision will be made, there are no decisions for me to make, I just showed my availability“, said Negoiţă, according to Agerpres.

Robert Negoiţă also said that they were presented “some analyzes that did not look very favorable” regarding Cătălin Cîrstoiu, reason why “there were these countless and long, complicated meetings” in the idea of finding the solution for “this issue“.
