Maruță, in the first show after the announcement made by PRO TV: “We are leaving with our heads up, our backs straight, our eyes forward”

Cătălin Măruță thanked the viewers, the guests and the team for their support and emphasized that the remaining period until the end will be treated with the same positive tone and energy, marking the end of an important chapter in his career. The message comes after PRO TV announced on Monday evening, January 12, that it will give up the “La Măruță” show.

In the show broadcast on Tuesday, January 13, Măruță told how it started with emotions on October 22, 2007, grew up together with the viewers and guests, learning from experiences, mistakes and the stories of those at home, according to Hotnews.

“We started with emotions on October 22, 2007. We grew easily, with you, our viewers, with our guests, sometimes with mistakes, sometimes with controversies.

But I learned from you, the people at home, from the stories told here, on happylica, and from the talented people who crossed our threshold every day, I learned something”, said Catalin Maruta.

He recalls that the show was 18 years old and points out that it was a challenge to make a live entertainment show, day in and day out, sometimes with special editions of several hours.

“Which means we’re big, both literally and figuratively. Now, I don’t know what you think, and I don’t want it to sound like a compliment, but it’s not an easy thing to do a live entertainment show, from Monday to Friday, every day, for two hours, sometimes with special editions even three, four, six hours, like on December 1st”. adds this one.

Cătălin Măruță also made a calculation and said that, from the start of the show until Tuesday’s edition, “we were together for 6,658 days or 160,000 hours or 9 million 600 thousand minutes“:

“And we calculated another 580 million seconds, because we said let’s calculate everything we can. You know what they say, all good things must come to an end.”

I promise you that in these 19 days we have left we will try to feed you with the same positive tone, to get the best out of every story, so we leave with our heads held high, our backs straight, our eyes forward and we want to thank all of you who have and watch us, those who have and write us messages.

To all those who were and are our colleagues and collaborators, thank God, that we have many. This good is left for February 6th. I then prepare a text like this, more true”concluded Cătălin Măruță.

“There is nothing dramatic or scandalous behind the news that the TV show is stopping”

In a post on Facebook published after the show, Măruță thanks everyone for the support and job offers received.

“Thank you to all of you who gave me messages of support and sent me good thoughts… It’s a choice made with the heart, at the right time. I also thank you to those who made me job offers today, I am grateful to you and it obviously feels good to see and feel your love.

But I want to tell you all that it is nothing dramatic or scandalous behind the information that the TV show stops in a month“, he declared.

The presenter emphasizes that it is a decision that has been thought about for several years, and expresses his desire that he and the viewers enjoy time with family and personal development.

“It’s a decision I’ve been thinking about for some years already (well, I also said in 2015 in an interview for “Revista OK!” that at 40 I want to retire and, frankly, even now I’m not making concrete calculations for that).

But I wish for myself and for each of you, joys, time with family, emotional and professional evolution.

I am touched by your care and attention and thank you again for everything. See you on the show until February 6!”

PRO TV gives up the show “La Măruță” after 18 years

PRO TV will abandon one of the longest-running and most recognizable formats of its program schedule. The “La Măruță” show, which for almost two decades was a landmark of television afternoons, will officially end on February 6, 2026.

The announcement was made on Monday evening, January 12, through a press release sent by the television channel, in which PRO TV representatives explain that the decision is part of a larger process of editorial repositioning.

According to management, the change aims to adapt the content strategy both for the traditional linear television audience and for consumers in the digital environment, in a media context in constant transformation.

“The decision is part of a wider process of adapting the content strategy, aimed at responding to both linear television audiences and digital consumers, in the context of a constantly evolving media market”, it is stated in the PRO TV press release.
