Maths teacher, amazed by the answer of a student with a GPA of 9.50: “He doesn’t know how many legs a rabbit has”

A mathematics teacher from Câmpina recounted a surprising moment he spent with one of his students with good results at school. “He doesn’t know how many legs a rabbit has. Do we need to be surprised?” he asks.

Professor Mihail Iordache reported that during a test, the student, with an overall average of 9.50 and grade 8 in mathematics, gave an unexpected answer to a seemingly simple problem, related to the number of legs of a rabbit.

“I’m testing a child and I give him this problem. He doesn’t do it to me, telling me that he doesn’t know how many legs a rabbit has and this is not studied in mathematics. PS: the student is at a school in Câmpina with a general average of 9.50+ and in mathematics 8. Do we need to be surprised by something like this?”, wrote Mihail Iordache on Facebook.

The post quickly drew backlash from netizens. Many said they faced similar responses every year. “Every year I encounter this puzzlement. Many students’ answer is: «the rabbit has two legs and two paws!»’”, one user commented.

Other netizens joked about the situation.

“The student has a bright future as a lawyer”, wrote a netizen.

“And I don’t think he’s the only student who doesn’t know how many legs a rabbit has” another person wrote.

“Leave it, because there are still children who answer jokingly”, someone else commented.
