McDonald's® encourages reading through the Happy Meal™ Readers program

Reading has many benefits such as stimulating imagination and creativity, developing language and concentration skills, and stimulating social and emotional skills. Moreover, studies show that reading is a great opportunity for children and parents to connect and spend time together, strengthening the bond between them.

In 2023, 1.2 million books were chosen through McDonald's Happy Meal™ Readers program and a total of 2.7 million books since its launch in 2019. Through this program, parents can choose a book from the Little People series, Big Dreams™”, thus bringing to life some current characters and themes designed to inspire the little ones.

“Little People, Big Dreams™” is based on the stories of exceptional people: creators, artists, scientists and leaders, with incredible achievements and significant contributions in various fields. They are written and adapted for the understanding of the little ones, giving them the opportunity to identify with the characters and to dream with their eyes wide open.

The Happy Meal™ Readers Collection continues to inspire in 2024, with captivating titles such as: I Can Be a Sports Legend, stories of Pele and Muhammad Ali, I Can Be an Inspirational Writer, stories of Maya Angelou and Jane Austen , “I Can Be an Astronaut,” stories by Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride, “I Can Be an Extraordinary Athlete,” story by Terry Fox, “I Can Be a Brave Mountaineer,” story by Tenzing Norgay, “I Can Write a Scary Story,” story of Mary Selley.
