Former UEFA footballer and president, Michel Platini, was the victim of a robbery in his home in Bouches-du-Rhône. About twenty trophies and medals were stolen.

The incident took place on Friday, July 18, 2025, around 5:30 in the morning. Michel Platini suddenly woke up, after hearing a noise coming from the garden of his house, reports RTL.

When he went out to see what was happening, he noticed an individual with a hood, dressed in black, in front of his window. The person fled immediately.

According to the quoted source, the former footballer immediately observed friction traces in his home. A foil in the garden attracted the attention in particular, where it exposes some of the many trophies and medals received throughout the career.

When he went to investigate, Michel Platini found that about twenty of these distinctions are missing. The value of the damages is being evaluated.

Contacted by RTL, the Marseille Prosecutor’s Office of “Confirmed the opening of an investigation for qualified robbery committed at Michel Platini’s home.” The local gendarmerie brigade is in charge of the first research.
