An employee of the club, the 51-year-old man was at the stadium at the time of the tragedy, which occurred just a few hours before the official debut of the Galatians in 2025. The Oțelul Club gave the news through a statement posted on social networks. “With deep pain and sadness, we announce the passing of our colleague, Ciprian Nichita, who left us far too soon, following a heart attack suffered right at the stadium, before the game with Petrolul. In these difficult moments, we are with his family and all those who loved and respected him. Rest in peace!”wrote those from Oțelul.
Mihai Stoica’s message
The sad news upset Mihai Stoica, the FCSB official who worked at the Galați club between 1992 and 2002. MM posted a message dedicated to the one he named “best friend”. “I lost the best friend and the most beautiful man I knew. The man who always took care of others, always putting himself last.
Today (not yesterday), at the stadium of the team he loved, Ciprian Cipanu Nichita moved to the Lord. Rest in peace! Sincere condolences to the family… Rest easy, my brother, you will always be with me…”wrote Mihai Stoica, on Facebook.
