The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, welcomes the idea proposed by the College of Doctors in Romania that people who attack doctors on duty should be charged with insult.

“It seems fine to me, I think that this form by which the insult to medical personnel is somewhat legislated is a good one, because we have had countless cases in which doctors were assaulted, insulted, physically assaulted, followed, threatened in the public space, defamed and so on”said Alexandru Rogobete, on Wednesday evening, on Medika Tv.
He categorized the proposal as right “a form of protection for medical personnel”, considering it to be “a first step” so that doctors and assistants are safer.
The Romanian College of Physicians recently adopted a Code of Medical Ethics, which includes rules regarding the doctor-patient relationship.
