More money for teachers scanning exam papers this summer. How much extra do I get?

The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, proposes an increase of between 25 and 59% of the amounts paid to teachers for scanning the papers in this summer's exams. Although the percentage increases seem impressive, the nominal amounts are relatively small, it's a few tens of lei.

“In the context of the digitized assessment in exams, I considered it important that the increase in the amounts granted to assistants be differentiated. Therefore, we propose an increase of approximately 25% in the sums granted to assistants who also have tasks of scanning and uploading papers for the national assessment and for the baccalaureate, compared to the August 2023 exam session, respectively of 59% for assistants with tasks of scanning at the tenure exams and finalized.”transmitted Ligia Deca, via Facebook.

Although the percentage increases seem significant, the added nominal amounts are relatively small, a few tens of lei, due to the fact that they are calculated based on a daily rate between 145 and 157 lei, according to Edupedu.

Despite this increase, the other teachers participating in the exams will not benefit from any increase in the amounts for these activities, continuing to be paid the same as in 2023, according to the announcement of the Minister of Education.

We also propose the inclusion in the payment of computer scientists/operators from the county commissions for organizing the national evaluation, responsible for using the IT application dedicated to national exams, who were not included in the payment until now. The increases for all exams represent, on average, 20% of the amount allocated in the previous year. The draft order will be debated in the meeting of the Social Dialogue Commission on Monday, June 3“, states Ligia Deca.

In 2023, teachers who participated in the National Evaluation received 145 lei per day. Only teachers who scan papers will receive 25% more, more precisely 35 lei more, according to the announcement.

A teacher who attended the Baccalaureate exam received, in 2023, 157 lei, if he also scans papers, he will receive almost 40 lei more this year.

In the 2024 Titular and Definitive exams, scanning assistants would receive approximately 250 lei, an increase of 93 lei compared to last year.

We remind you that last month, Ligia Deca announced that the teachers who will take part in the national exams will be paid better, the details of the exact amount to be announced.
