Rapid – Dinamo (1-1) prolonged the crisis that the Giulești team is going through. Which, unbelievable but true, is the only group in the Romanian Superliga with a zero in the wins column. And this after six stages! Naturally, the first culprit for this situation is coach Neil Lennon (53 years old).

On Sunday, immediately after the end of the derby with Rapid, the fans chanted “Resignation, resignation“. That’s why Lennon was asked, in the post-match interview, if he, in turn, was thinking about terminating his contract with Rapid.
“I’m not thinking of resigning from Rapid, I’ve only just arrived. I’m trying to build something here, not leave. There are six matches, I lost only one, why should I resign? I can’t promise anything, I can’t make promises I can’t keep. This is the reality in football, we led in 4 of these 6 matches and still did not win“, he stated.
The Northern Irish technician mentioned that Dinamo luckily won a point, benefiting from a very easy penalty awarded.
“I am not satisfied with this result, normal. We played well, controlled the game for a long time and had opportunities to make the score 2-0. I believe that the decision to award Dinamo a penalty was terrible. It was far too light a touch and the player was falling before any contact. It’s an incredible decision to award a penalty. It’s a shame, because as I said, we had 2-3 chances to score the second goal and tie the game. Dinamo didn’t give us big problems today, so they were lucky to get this equal resultLennon mentioned.
“Of course, today we missed a striker of Rrahmani’s quality (no – Kosovar striker Albion Rrahmani, who will be transferred to Sparta Prague after his medical visit)… but there was talk of his transfer for a long time… it was also a good deal for the club. But now we have to find a replacement for Rrahmani. We haven’t talked about bringing in a new striker with the management yet, we will in the coming days. I have a list of strikers. We need a good striker because we haven’t scored as much as we should have in these stages. We need quality in that area“, the coach added.
Neil Lennon stated that it is frustrating that his team failed to win a single game this season.
“It’s very frustrating that we haven’t managed to win so far. I think we deserved to get more. But that’s how football is, sometimes it’s cruel. I can make excuses, but I won’t. We have to be better in the last third and tie the matches when we have the opportunity“, he also said.
