According to the information provided by the doctors, Nicu Covaci started facing health problems about two weeks ago, when he started to notice numbness in the face area and an impairment of vision. Concerned by these symptoms, the artist decided that it was necessary to perform an MRI scan, which revealed the presence of a serious problem, according to news.ro.

The diagnosis established by the team of specialists from the Department of Neurosurgery of Timișoara County Hospital, led by doctor Horia Pleș, was a worrying one: “expansive intracranial process”.

The surgery, which lasted about six hours, consisted of removing a tumor from the brain, and samples from the formation were sent to the laboratory for further analysis. The results of these tests will determine the nature of the tumor, either malignant or benign.

The doctors reported that the operation was carried out without complications and that Nicu Covaci's health is evolving in a positive direction. At the moment, the artist remains intubated in the intensive care unit of the County Hospital, but there are hopes that in the next few hours he will be able to be extubated.
