Presidential counselor Cristian Diaconescu announced on Saturday, October 4, is being worked on a meeting between the President of Romania Nicușor Dan, and the American leader Donald Trump in Washington.

According to Diaconescu, the purpose of the visit is one “Of substance”, not a simple image action.
“What does this mean? It means that in the bilateral dialog it will establish at the highest level an agenda, a roadmap, a path and a package of agreements. This approach worked and recently, in the case of Donald Trump – King Charles,” Diaconescu said, in the show “In front of you” from Digi24.
The agenda of discussions would include economic and military topics, as well as discussions on the Visa Waiver program.
The counselor stressed that, in terms of the economic package, the decisions do not depend exclusively on the presidential administration, but also on the Government and other Romanian authorities, following that the commitments made are predictably implemented.
“The American part wants predictability, respectively agreements that are implemented over time, without stops or nuances”, Diaconescu explained.
Also, security and defense aspects will be addressed.
“Romania’s security interests coincide with those of the United States in the region. Romania is in second place, after Poland, regarding the governmental political determination regarding the endowment and increase of the response capacity ”, added the presidential counselor.
