President Nicuşor Dan stated on Thursday evening that among the proposals for the heads of the three Prosecutor’s Offices are persons “very interesting”.
The head of state mentioned – in a press conference held after the informal meeting of the leaders of the European Council, which took place at Alden-Biesen Castle in Belgium – that he does not agree with the opinions expressed in the public space on this subject.
“It seems to me that they are, and I’m speaking as seriously as possible, it seems to me that there are some very interesting people among them. I’ve also seen the comments in the public space, I’m not of the same opinion. On the contrary, of course it’s a competition, people come with a management plan that I don’t know at the moment, but just looking at the names I’ve seen, for each of the three Prosecutor’s Offices, there are very interesting people and I’m optimistic that they will energize“, said the president, quoted by Agerpres.

According to him, it is a “speculation” without foundation the fact that Marius Voineag could control another institution from the position of deputy at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
“Regarding Mr. Voineag, it seems to me a speculation without any foundation that a man who may possibly be a deputy at one institution will control another institution. This seems to me without any foundation”he said.
The president did not want to give a deadline regarding the proposals for the heads of the secret services.

Regarding the referendum for Justice, which would take place among the magistrates, Nicusor Dan specified that the technical proposals are currently being analyzed to ensure the confidentiality of the consultation.
