President Nicușor Dan had a meeting with representatives of the business environment in Romania on Thursday. The meeting took place in the context of the current economic situation, the delegations reiterating the business environment to contribute to ensuring economic stability. The head of state said that the measures to decrease the deficit should be prepared by the end of June.
“The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, received on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Cotroceni Palace, a delegation composed of representatives of some organizations of the local business environment. The meeting took place in the context of the current economic situation, which requires conjugated efforts to identify some constructive solutions to reduce our country”informed the Presidential Administration in a press community.
“I hope it will be the first of several meetings to have and I would propose you, because you know it is a difficult time for Romania’s fiscal policy, so to speak, to divide the discussion in two: what is to be done before June 30 when we have to prepare a package for the second half of 2025 in which to take some measures, I hope,Nicușor Dan told the businessmen.
The consultations with the business environment were initiated by President Nicușor Dan in the context of opening the business environment in providing expertise for the benefit of all the parties involved: “During the meeting, the delegations of the business environment have reiterated the commitment of the organizations they represent to contribute to ensuring the economic stability of Romania in the long term, by identifying efficiency measures that will lead to the sustainability of public finances.”
The meeting was attended by representatives of the following employers’ and business organizations: Concordia Employers, Foreign Investors Council, Romanian Business Leaders Foundation, AMBER CAREER in Romania, Chamber of Commerce, Industry and French Agriculture in Romania, Chamber of Commerce and Industry -Germane and National Council of Romanian and Middle Enterprises.
The head of state had a series of consultations with the parliamentary parties on Wednesday, May 28, to discuss the economic measures and to form the executive future. The parties return to the consultations with the president’s advisers on Thursday on the preparation of the necessary measures package.
