Nightmare experience for a Romanian who spent thousands of euros on a 5-star vacation. “I can’t believe this, it’s shocking”

A Romanian paid 3,000 euros for what should have been an unforgettable vacation, but once he arrived at his destination he realized that, in fact, his vacation had just been ruined.

An old Romanian proverb says that “the calculation at home does not match the one at the fair”, and a Romanian who chose to spend his summer vacation in Turkey was convinced of how true this saying is. Although he reached deep into his pocket and paid 3,000 euros for the stay, he found a room on the spot that in no way corresponded to what he was promised. He narrated what happened to him on a Facebook group intended for Romanians who spend their holidays in Turkey. A shabby room with dead cockroaches, spiders and unwashed bedding, plus broken air conditioning spoiled his long-awaited vacation.

“For those who come here, this is what you get for 3,000 euros for 3 people. Cockroaches, leaky air conditioner that doesn’t work, dirty bedding and spiders“, he wrote on Facebook. His post was accompanied by three telling photos (photos are below).

Meanwhile, the post went viral. That’s how he found out that he was not the only one who ran into such problems on vacation and that several compatriots faced exactly the same situation.

You also take home cockroaches”

You also take home cockroaches! It happened to me last year too“, someone wrote. “I can’t believe such a thing. Shocking”another reacted. “God forbid”, someone else exclaimed upon seeing the images.

“And what did the people at the reception say?”came a pertinent question. “No one cares. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told it was a joke that at 6.43 (when I woke up with cockroaches on me) I would ask for such a thing. They said they are changing our room. But I find such conditions at 5 stars aberrant. Be they and Turkey”, replied the author of the original post.

“I’m actually shocked. They have a high rating on Booking etc. I say don’t let yourself, make big panarama, complaints, close them because that’s what they deserve. Walk until the manager comes, don’t leave”a lady advised him. “It’s straight out of a horror movie.”

Scandal at the reception

The author of the original post says the receptionist tried to stop him from showing the pictures to other tourists. “When I was at the reception, a group of Russians was just staying. When I said that I show the pictures of every person who enters the hotel, they called the security. And the receptionist shouted that I shouldn’t show the pictures to someone. People know what they’re selling, don’t worry. Probably, realistically speaking, the reviews on Booking are: 1. For services, food, beach. Here I have nothing to blame because the beach is ok, the food is ok. 2. From people who have lower standards. We haven’t been to Turkey since 2009“, he added.

“Who will lock them up? Do you think you are in Austria?“, someone asked.

“I agree, I only had problems with them. The bathroom was horrible, water flowed continuously from the toilet. Broken towel rail, bugs…”, a Romanian woman who went through exactly the same kind of experience gave him the right. Another Romanian woman ran into an identical problem, and at the reception she received an answer that helped her. “They are also at the reception. The answer for us was that we confuse Turkey with EU countries. Turkey is not a member of the EU and therefore is not obliged to comply with the standards we are used to.”

Don’t give up under any circumstances! Same condition as room, villa upgrade. But only with the manager, I admit that I had gotten out of my head and felt bad about everything”someone else wrote. “That’s what happened to us this summer!”confirmed a tourist. “It can be worse! Aquaworld Belek, 5-star resort!,” someone wrote, and the comment was accompanied by an eloquent photo. “Tell them you will call Zabita to file a complaint. It’s the police that deal with that sort of thing.” someone advised him.

Others had different reactions. “You deserve your fate, when you entered the room did you not see the conditions? When you made a reservation, you didn’t see pictures, reviews?“, someone wrote to him. The response was appropriate. “Thank you for the comment… Romanian. When I entered the room I did not see any bugs. And I didn’t need the air conditioning being in the evening. I mean yesterday. I never thought for a second that I would find cockroaches… on me in the morning. That’s right. You’re right. We deserve our fate“, replied the author of the original post ironically. “Write to the hotel reviews, so that it can be seen.” someone else recommended it.

“When I entered the room, my legs instantly turned black”

“We also went to Selin 3 years ago, we stayed in the villas by the pool. Likewise, when I entered the room, my feet instantly turned black, the floor was very dirty, including sand. Dust on the furniture, I went to the reception and they said they are sending someone to clean again. After 3 hours the dust was in its place, I went again, but the same, total indifference. I’ve been going to Turkey for 8 years, but I haven’t found anywhere like here”, was another confirmation among dozens received.

“I went to Kamelia last year… never again, I actually don’t understand, at least the Romanians who praise the location and the Turks in general. I’d rather go to Greece at 2 stars than Turkey at 5. Probably the standards are very low for most and if they have food they are happy… At 5 stars the birds had to come and eat out of my hand on the balcony and be absolute everything moon It seems that 5 stars in Turkey actually means -1. Go, those of you who stick with the Turks, and give money for 5 stars, because I’m going where even 5 stars means 5 stars and it’s the same price”, was another reply.
