Olguța Vasilescu harshly attacks Oana Țoiu in the scandal of the blocking of Victor Ponta’s daughter in the Middle East: “Such specimens must urgently disappear from the Government”

The mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, launched a harsh attack on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, in the scandal related to Victor Ponta’s daughter. The mayor claims that the situation is “degrade” and states that such behaviors should not exist in politics.

The reaction comes after the minister was accused of ordering the daughter of former prime minister Victor Ponta to be removed from the plane that was to repatriate Romanian citizens.

In a post published on Facebook, Lia Olguța Vasilescu condemned the way the girl was allegedly treated. “Fighting with the children of political opponents is degrading! I don’t know if Mrs. Țoiu has children, it seems that she doesn’t, but even if she doesn’t and she doesn’t know how a child suffers in such a situation, to be alone in a country under bombardment, she can’t lower the level of political struggle so low“, she wrote.

The mayor of Craiova also criticized the explanations provided by the minister, saying that they worsen the situation. “The fact that she tried to explain in the press conference that groups of children (ie accompanied by teachers) are more important than a single child, to justify such an attitude, disqualifies her even more! So far, all USR ministers have made such serious blunders that if they had been from the PSD they would have brought the whole movement to the streets «Puri»“.

Vasilescu continued the criticism and stated that such situations should not be tolerated. “Sane people who see everything the #resisters do do not go to the streets, but judge! And the only conclusion is that such specimens of ministers must urgently disappear not only from the government, but also from political life! All countries that had citizens in countries in armed conflict found solutions to bring them home. Mrs. Toiu seems more concerned with her own image than with that. Which image was dust anyway!”

At the end of the message, the mayor emphasized that, although he had political conflicts with Victor Ponta, the current situation exceeds the limits. “PS I had my political matches with Victor Ponta, but what is happening now is too much! Way too much!”transmitted Lia Olguța Vasilescu.

What Victor Ponta and Daciana Sârbu say

Victor Ponta and Daciana Sârbu said on Thursday that their daughter, Irina, was removed from the list of passengers on the repatriation plane organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aircraft was to bring to the country 28 children who had attended a camp and were stranded in the Emirates due to the conflict in the Middle East.

Daciana Sârbu said that their daughter would have been taken off the bus that was transporting the children to the airport. According to her, the child was said to represent “a vulnerability” because of the name it bears. The girl would have been left alone at the Romanian consulate, and the family later managed to find some Romanians living in the area who would help her.

Later, Daciana Sârbu announced that she intends to file a criminal complaint against Oana Țoiu for abuse of office.

On Thursday evening, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, confirmed in a press conference organized at the headquarters of the ministry that there was a discussion with the Romanian consul in the Emirates.

According to her, the conversation was about “compliance with the criteria, both for the presence in the coach and in the plane”.
