“I definitely won the process with Olivia Steer. I won at the substantive court, in appeal and in appeal, after almost three years and an action in court that I did not open. I still believe that what is about health and respect for life, prevention and awareness, not only in terms of breast cancer, but all the whole of public health policies, must reach the public space from approved voices, from scientists, doctors, researchers, people who have a solid professional. The scandal started in 2021, when the anti -vaccine activist Olivia Steer wrote on her Facebook page that she will do neither Pap Pap test nor mammography, two of the essential investigations recommended by doctors to prevent two diseases that lead to the death of thousands of women in our country.

The posting of the former TV presented has aroused numerous comments, and Ramona Strugariu had a harsh position.

“Every year over 2000 women die in Romania due to cervical cancer, and over 80% of breast cancers are discovered very late, in stages where healing is no longer possible, but only an extension of survival. This is precisely because we do not have a medical ecosystem based on prevention, because we do not have enough health education, because we have so much to do here, and the voice of each potential message multiplier in the public space should help this approach. We are in the first place in Europe at the mortality caused by the cervical cancer – and for this there is a vaccine ”, a written Strugariu.
Olivia Steer has noticed in the public space through several controversial statements to the medicine, but also of the vaccines.
For example, during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Olivia Steer wrote on the Facebook page that Covid patients are “Killed by the OMS protocols of death, with the criminal complicity of the heroes in the first line ”.
It was sanctioned by the National Council for Combating Discrimination with the amount of 5,000 lei.
