A medical team from the Regional Hospital in the Paraguayan city of Pedro Juan Caballero removed an ovarian tumor weighing approximately 11 kilograms from a 56-year-old patient, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS) of Paraguay announced on Friday.

The woman presented herself at the medical center located in the department of Amambay, on the border with Brazil, after noticing “a progressive increase in abdominal circumference over the last five months”indicated the Ministry of Health, according to EFE, quoted by Agerpres.
After performing some clinical tests, the doctors confirmed the presence of an ovarian tumor, a mass “cystic looking” which required a surgical intervention, according to the press release.
The patient, “in a favorable condition”
“The intervention took place without complications”assured the Ministry of Health, which emphasized that the tumor was completely removed.
The patient is “in a favorable state”, mentioned the institution, specifying that it receives postoperative care.
The operation was performed by a multidisciplinary team consisting of two surgeons, an anesthetist and other professionals, according to the release.
