The Italian press has identified the player in question: Kyle Krause, Parma’s president, posted on X about imminent purchase of the Italian-Romanian goalkeeper Richard Marcone from Turris (Italian Serie C no.). He is to replace Leandro Chichizola, who transferred to Spezia. Marcone is expected to join Parma in Emilia-Romagna following Krause’s post on January 10, 2025, which suggested the acquisition with a series of emojis a reference to Marcone’s dual nationality.”
Richard Marcone is 31 years old, works as a goalkeeper and has dual Italian and Romanian citizenship, having been born in Bucharest. He was adopted at the age of five months by a family from Italy, playing only in the Peninsula, in teams from the second and third tiers: Vicenza, Sudtirol, Trapani, Pro Vercelli, Cuneo, Rieti, Ternana, Potenza, Avellino and Sorrento.
11 years ago, he was called up to the Italian U20 national team, but did not make any official appearances either at this level or at other age groups. Richard Marcone is married to a Romanian woman from Focșani.
