The Central Electoral Bureau announced, on Sunday evening, the partial results, at the national level, for the election of local public administration authorities and for the election of members from Romania in the European Parliament on June 9.

Thus, for the election of mayors, following the centralization, at national level, of 99.90% of the 3,186 electoral constituencies, the degree of participation in voting was 49.97% and the total number of validly cast votes is 8,555,788, representing 96.78% from the number of those who appeared at the polls. PSD obtained 2,987,993 votes – 34.92%, PNL – 2,543,571 votes – 29.73%, AUR – 544,144 votes – 6.36%, United Right Alliance (USR – PMP – Forza Dreptei) – 493,147 votes – 5.76%, Electoral Alliance PSD PNL – 458,224 votes – 5.36%, UDMR – 378,591 votes – 4.42%, independent candidates – 324,258 votes – 3.79%.
For the election of local councils, following the centralization, at national level, of 99.65% of the 3,186 electoral constituencies, the situation is as follows: the degree of participation in voting was 50.06% and the total number of validly cast votes is 8,389,547 , representing 96.05% of the number of those who went to the polls, of which: PSD 2,765,444 – 32.96%, PNL – 2,215,774 – 26.41%, AUR – 804,694 – 9.59%, ADU – 530,668 – 6.33%, UDMR – 453,778 – 5.41%, PSD PNL Alliance – 382,973 – 4.56%, USR – 154,472 – 1.84%.
BEC specifies that in Cheţani commune, Mureș county, a new round of voting for the position of mayor is being organized on June 23, 2024, for the candidates in a runoff situation – respectively Bega Daniel-Marcel, proposed by the Alliance PMP-Forţa Dreptei, and Emil-Florin Mocan, proposed by the Social Democratic Party.
Also, according to BEC, a new round of voting for the position of mayor is being organized on June 23, 2024, in Poşaga Commune, Alba County, for candidates in
runoff situation, respectively Popa Aurelia, proposed by the Social Democratic Party, and Bulgăr Ionel, proposed by the National Liberal Party.
For the election of the county councils, following the centralization, at the national level, of 35 of the 41 electoral constituencies, the situation is as follows: the degree of participation in voting was 50.60% and the total number of valid votes cast is 6,458,069, representing 94.77% of the number of those who went to the polls, of which: PSD – 2,238,609 – 34.66%, PNL – 1,842,807 – 28.53%, AUR – 710,126 – 11.00%, ADU – 502,424 – 7.78%, UDMR – 356,551 – 5.52%, SOS Romania – 189,453 – 2.93%, PSD PNL Alliance – 127,816 – 1.98%.
For the election of the presidents of the county councils, following the centralization, at the national level, of 35 of the 41 electoral constituencies, the situation is as follows: the degree of participation in voting was 50.60% and the total number of valid votes cast is 6,507,880 , representing 95.50% of the number of those who went to the polls, of which: PSD – 2,418,540 – 37.16%, PNL – 1,957,780 – 30.08%, AUR – 640,728 – 9.85%, ADU – 513,178 – 7.89%, UDMR – 339,785 – 5.22%, SOS Romania – 198,029 – 3.04%, PSD PNL Alliance – 131,536 – 2.02%.
Regarding the partial results for the election of members from Romania to the European Parliament, the BEC informs that, following the centralization of 99.99% of the total of 19,870 polling stations organized in the country and abroad, the situation is as follows: degree of participation the turnout was 52.40% and the total number of validly cast votes is 8,942,099, of which: PSD PNL Alliance – 4,341,356 – 48.55%, AUR Alliance – 1,334,845 – 14.93%, ADU – 778,824 – 8.71% , UDMR – 579,177 – 6.48%, SOS Romania – 450,019 – 5.03%, REPER – 334,697 -3.74%, Ştefănuţă Nicolae-Bogdănel – 275,789 – 3.08%.
In the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, the BEC states that it has the final results for the 915 polling stations abroad, and following their full centralization, the situation is as follows: the total number of validly cast votes is 210,410, of which : PNL Alliance – 44,925 – 21.35%, ADU – 34,373 – 16.34%, AUR Alliance – 30,830 – 14.65%, SOS Romania – 28,457 – 13.52%, REPER – 20,418 – 9.70%, United Diaspora Party – 14,827 – 7.05%, Ş bitch Nicolae-Bogdănel – 12,422 – 5.90%.
The Central Electoral Bureau mentions that it will continue to inform public opinion of the partial results, by publishing them on its website, every day, until the issuance of the final minutes regarding the determination of the results for the two types of elections that took place in the date of June 9, 2024.
