Photo Premiere in health: the first new county hospital built in Romania in the last 35 years was completed

After more than 30 years of waiting and with an investment of over 606 million lei, the construction and furnishing of the first building of a county hospital built from scratch after the Revolution, at the Bistrita-Năsăud Emergency County Hospital, was completed.

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, shows that after years of talking about needs, plans and delays, today there are concrete results that change the medical reality for people. “To me, this moment says a lot about the direction we’re going in health,” states the minister.

Investment of over 606 million lei

The new building of the Bistrita-Năsăud County Emergency Hospital is the largest health project realized through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan in the county. It is one of the largest investments from non-reimbursable European funds for health at the national level, writes Mediafax.

With a total investment of over 606 million lei, the hospital has 235 beds. It also brings a logically constructed medical organization. Includes essential wards, modern operating room, interventional cardiology with hybrid angiography room. It also has neurosurgery, neurology, interventional gastroenterology, gynecology, ENT, hemodialysis and neurological recovery.

It is a hospital built to deal with complex cases, for quick interventions and for patient safety. The extension of the operating room, the correct circuits, the spaces dedicated to professional training and the modern facilities reduce the risks and increase the quality of the medical act.

Integrated digitization from the start

Digitization is integrated from the start. The beds are connected to a computer system that allows quick access to patient data. The system enables remote monitoring and real-time medical collaboration, including obtaining a second opinion in critical cases.

In parallel, the old building body went through an extensive modernization process: rehabilitation of existing buildings, equipping with modern equipment and digitization of medical flows.

240 doctors choose to work in Bistrita

240 doctors practice here. They chose to work in Bistrita-Năsăud because there is infrastructure, stability and respect for the medical act.

“This is perhaps the clearest sign that the right investments change the system, not just the buildings”said Minister Rogobete.

“I have known this project since the time when I was secretary of state and coordinated the PNRR in health, when it was only on paper, in a list of investments that seemed impossible to complete. Today, when I saw the new building completed – the first in the PNRR – I stood for a few seconds and remembered all the years of work, pressure and responsibility that made this result possible”. stated Rogobete.
