The Presidential Administration announced, Tuesday evening, November 25, that it is joining the international campaign 16 days of activism against violence against women (November 25 – December 10).

So, the Cotroceni Palace was illuminated this evening in orange color
“Violence against women is a harsh reality of Romanian society, and we, authorities and citizens, must work together to support the victims, so that they know that they are not alone and that they must ask for help when they are abused.
In the first 10 months of this year, 57 women lost their lives in Romania as a result of gender-based violence, a shocking balance that shows that these are not isolated incidents, but a failure of the authorities. Even when protection orders were in place, they were not respected or enforced“, the Presidential Administration sent.

According to the cited institution, “it’s time for the authorities to move from words to deeds: concrete measures, real monitoring, effective support for victims, so that tragedies are prevented and stopped once and for all.”
“We need institutions that act promptly, efficient public policies and a society that no longer tolerates any form of abuse. No woman should ever fear that tomorrow will never come.” the Presidential Administration also sent.

Also, the Parliament Palace was lit up in orange. The announcement was made by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu.
And the Government building was illuminated on Tuesday evening. The institution announced that it is joining the campaign “Orange the World 2025” on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
