The most important competition for tourist destinations in Romania has designated its finalists. In the category of fun and adventure in the Top 10 National qualified, one of the largest leisure parks in Romania, with unique goals in South-East Europe.

The destination of the year is the most important competition on tourism in Romania. It promotes tourist destinations from all over the country, on different categories. The winners are designated by the votes of a jury of experts, but also by the public’s vote. Sociological research at national level also contributes to decision making. Among the finalists of the year in the category of fun and adventure, one of the largest leisure parks in Romania has also entered. It is called Cornișa Aqua Park and is arranged on a few hectares at the exit from Botosani. It is a tourist destination with assault every summer by tourists from all over Moldova, but also from the neighboring countries. He entered the European circuit with a unique tourist objective in Romania.
Full fun in northern Moldova
The Leisure Park in Cornișa is located in Botosani, on a slope from the city, to Suceava. It was opened in 2019 and covers an area of 48 hectares. It is one of the largest leisure areas in Romania, with increased complexity. It has an area of Aqua Park, with aquatic slides and all kinds of installations for aquatic fun, for all ages, both outside and inside. It has an Olympic basin, but also a suite of inner pools, heated. To this is added a basis for indoor relaxation, with large jacuzzi, heated basins and saunas of different types.

Beyond the Aqua Park area, the leisure center in Cornișa also benefits from a large ice rink, which can be played including hockey, at the junior level. The area is complemented with sports fields, artificial river rafting river, boating lake, playgrounds, climbing wall, Skate Park and a space for walking and relaxing. The park is administered by a direction from the Botosani City Hall, being an investment of the Botosan municipality with European funds, worth 18 million euros.
Tourists from all over Moldova but also from Europe
Those who administer the Aqua Park Cornișa say that every summer, in particular, the leisure area is assaulted by tourists. “I come from all the neighboring counties. From Iași, Suceava, Neamț. But we have enough tourists from Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova ”says Eugen Țurcanu, the head of the Public Services Directorate Sport and Leisure, the direction that manages the park. As for prices, for a full day of fun at the Aqua Park area, an adult pays 50 lei, and a child 25 lei.

One of the most unique objectives is the Artificial River River River. It is a unique goal in Eastern Europe sought by sportsmen passionate about kayaks and extreme water sports throughout the continent. In 2021, the first national competition for river-raft and kayak took place here.

Then followed an international competition with crews from Central Europe. The route has several levels of difficulty and the possibility of adjusting for several types of samples. The river has a length of over 280 meters and flows into a lake with an area of 4500 square meters, with a depth of 2.25 meters. The river has a 5 -meter level difference and an adjustable difficulty. It has installations that mimic the rocky formations in the mountain rivers. This is why the Leisure Park in Cornișa was selected for the second consecutive in the final of the tourist destination.

Currently, the competition is in the public voting phase until March 25th. In addition to the Leisure Park in Botosani, the final is from Moldova and Ariniș Park from Gura Humorului, Arca Land Iași and the Balta Zătun Leisure Complex. From the other areas of the country, on the list of finalists in the category of fun and adventure are Brambura Park Avrig, Club Vila Bran, Club Aventura Praid, Dino Park Râșnov, Mini Transilvania Odorheiu Secuiesc. In addition, from the Republic of Moldova was selected the “Kazak Club” Hipism and Agricultural Tourism Complex.
