From Timișoara, the road to Zagreb can be traveled in about 7 – 8 hours, on the Timișoara – Szeged – Budapest – Zagreb route. There is also an alternative, shorter route through Serbia, which crosses Belgrade.

Regardless of the route chosen, travelers have to pay vignettes (in Hungary or Serbia) and highway taxes in Croatia, which are paid at the tax gates and varies between 10 and 15 euros, depending on the distance traveled. Since 2023, Croatia has adopted the euro, which makes payments and simpler for tourists, the card payment being accepted.
