Cristian Popescu Piedone, former mayor of Sector 5 and former head of ANPC, announced on Saturday morning that he resigns from the Social Liberal (PUL) Humanist Party, a formation founded by Dan Voiculescu. In a public message, Piedone said he would set up his own political party, which he describes right “A party of citizens, for the good, safety and well -being of citizens.”
“Good people, dear citizens, I resigned from the PUL set up by Professor Dan Voiculescu! His reign remains faithful to the principles in which he believes, I … I follow the path of the citizens who created and supported me and propelled me in politics!

In his public message, Cristian Popescu Piedone understood that his political plans exceed the mere candidacy for a local position. He talks about a new stage, “At another level”where he intends to continue the fight for the citizens and against those he calls “Balauri and hyenas”. In his characteristic style, the former mayor of Sector 5 said:
“I have bigger plans! Much, much bigger!
Good people, professionally, are created by the unjust citizens and deceived by the Romanian state! I always fought for the honest citizen! No matter what public function I have occupied, always and I have always been in the service of the citizen!
Good people, I think the time has come … I disturbed the dragon! The dragons defeated me to the hyenas, and the hyenas … like the hyenas! It’s no bath! Piedone carries his Holy Cross and goes forward with his philosophy about citizens, friendship and life!
Piedone was not even given up when the hyenas threw him in the precipice! Because the good God left him at the judgment of the citizens! And the citizens … they raised him, they obliterated his wounds and they forced them to go on!

Piedone’s announcement about the elections from the Capital City Hall: “No. I do not run!”
Piedone wanted to emphasize that he would not run for the Capital City Hall, thus responding to rumors in the public space.

Criminally prosecuted for “using information that is not intended for publicity”
Cristian Popescu Piedone, was placed under judicial control by the anti-corruption prosecutors in a file in which he is accused of warning a hotel in Sinaia that he was going to carry out a control there.
According to the ordinance, on March 7, Cristian Popescu Piedone, as president of the ANPC, would be disclosed to a representative of a trading company that manages a hotel in the city of Sinaia that its subordinates are to carry out on the same day a thematic control at its company, as well as the objectives of the control.
The most recent disclosures in the file in which Cristian Popescu Piedone is being investigated show that the interception of the discussion between the head of ANPC and the employee of the Sinaia International Hotel would have been obtained by the Prosecutor’s Office Sinaia based on a mandate obtained from the court, within another criminal case.
