The doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu was elected, on Monday, the candidate of the Coalition for the General City Hall of the Capital. According to “Adevărul” sources, during Monday's Coalition meeting, in addition to the decision regarding the candidate for the Capital's mayor's office, common candidates for the sectors were decided.

According to “Adevărul” sources, during Monday's Coalition meeting, the decision was made regarding the candidate for the Capital's mayor's office, as well as joint candidates for the sectors, the General Council and the local sector councils.

The President of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, previously stated that if the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu were to be the candidate of the Coalition for the General City Hall, he has a chance of defeating Nicușor Dan.

The first vice-president of the PNL, Rareș Bogdan, was ironic, however, the way the discussions about the candidate of the Coalition for the Capital are evolving, stating that Cătălin Cîrstoiu was not included in the PNL polls.

Who is Cătălin Cîrstoiu?

Professor Cătălin Cârstoiu (50 years old) has been manager of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital (SUUB) since 2009 and dean of the Faculty of Medicine of UMF “Carol Davila” for almost 8 years, according to his CV.

Cătălin Cîrstoiu is married to doctor Monica Cîrstoiu, head of the Obstetrics-Gynecology clinic of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital, with whom he owns an apartment of 103.45 m2 in Bucharest, a house of 450 m2 in Mogoșoaia, Ilfov, and an urban plot of 3376.90 m2 in the same locality near the Capital, according to a 2022 wealth declaration of the doctor, and a 2023 wealth declaration of his wife.

The candidate of the Coalition for PMB, was driving a CADILLAC, from 2008, according to his wealth declaration, from two years ago, also having jewelry worth 150,000 euros, 20 current accounts, 6 bank deposits or equivalent, and one Fund of investments (including private pensions or other accumulation systems) (of 1,000,000 lei), in several currencies, at several banks in the country.

And according to his wife's statement, the two also have quite profitable businesses in the medical field. Thus, last year Cătălin and Monica Cîrstoiu received dividends from Anemona Clinical Services in the amount of 394,000 lei, each. In addition, his wife also received dividends from Anemona Med of 500,000 lei and from Praxis Medical of 600,000 lei.

Moreover, doctor Cîrstoiu received during the last year 450,645 lei from his salary as a manager and 224,575 lei from the salary of dean.

While his wife received during the last year 195,130 lei from the salary of the manger of the Obstetrics-Gynecology Clinic of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital and 126,208 lei from the salary of the University Lecturer at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
