Commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) found Salmonella in several poultry products sold in a large chain of stores in the country, according to observernews.ro.

The findings were made by the commissioners from CRPC Bucharest Ilfov, after the controls carried out at the company Rewe Romania SA (at Penny), according to observatornews.ro.
In which products has Salmonella been identified?
The control actions targeted the warehouse in Ștefăneşti commune, but also in two other stores in Bucharest, after there was suspicion of Salmonella contamination of several poultry products.
Samples were taken from the products in lot 1041203; as well as Hanul Boieresc chicken liver, lot 1041203; grilled chicken Hanul Boieresc, lot 1041103 and lot 1041203, producer SC Vanbet SRL, Strâmtura Mitoc locality, Banca commune, Vrancea county, products in which the presence of Salmonella was confirmed.
“I wonder if, also in this situation, we are doing harm by mentioning the name of the product and the manufacturer, as some employers' associations complain. I am also glad that we manage to help ANSVSA, continuing to carry out actions that they contest“, said the president of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, Horia Constantinescu, observatornews.ro notes.
We remind you that, on Friday, LIDL announced the withdrawal from sale of a batch of food products, which could be contaminated with Salmonella, after the manufacturer GEKA recalled the product as a precaution “Culinea Nuggets with chicken 500 g” with a validity period of February 3, 2025, from batch number ED03.02.2024 049502204845, with suspected Salmonella presence.
In the case of the batch in question, the presence of salmonella bacteria in the product cannot be excluded, according to ANSVSA.
