Premiere on the coast: tourists do not complain about prices. What does the Romanians who go to the sea are angry this season

The prices on the coast are no longer a problem for Romanian tourists. At least this is a division on an online platform, in which a tourist shows the payment note from a restaurant in Eforie Sud. However, another big problem arose.

Despite the fact that we are in full season, the hoteliers on the Black Sea Riviera come with important discounts to attract them on domestic tourists, but customers remain unhappy with other aspects of life on the coast.

Specifically, they complain about the value for money in terms of restaurants and canteens from the sea. A post on the Reddit platform, in which a tourist tells his experience in Eforie Sud resort, has aroused an intense online debate.

“I arrived for a day and I already decided 650 lei: Sunrong 50 lei piece, beer on the beach 12-15 lei, lemonade 20. And at the voucher the portions were so big that I took some anchovies after I left there …” – the tourist wrote.

After several commentators showed that the prices are reasonable, the tourist returned with specification: “The portions were very small: the boneless pulps = a pulp, one … bare, ricic, you say it was the pulp placed in the lidl at the end to make the weight necessary … the grilled vegetables – than they had a barbecue smell that they were almost raw. The pasta – a hand, a very small hand. There were little puree.

He explained that he did not complain about the price, but the value for money:

“Yes, the prices do not seem high, they are even reasonable compared to what I saw online before coming to the coast, but the quality-price ratio does not exist. It should be mentioned that the resort is the old mega, luck with the modernized cliff, but broken by all the kitsch, the boxing on stage with the Manele versus Indians with whistle to 20 meters, of lights. ”

The tourist has a problem with the following meals, given the negative reviews of the restaurants in the resort:

“I do not know where we will have dinner the following evenings, the reviews are dusty almost everywhere. I said to give another chance to the Romanian coast, but we regret it now.

The opinions of the Internet users – divided

The comments of other users vary between indignation and the recognition that the prices are reasonable, at least if the quality-price ratio is not taken into account.

“Cheaper than in Cluj or Timisoara, I also confirm.”

“Non-existent value for money, but prices are not exaggerated for the peak of the season.”

“The papanas were with truffle cream or?”

“Average price, not to say that below what is in Bucharest. Probably the quality in Eforie Sud is a student canteen.”

“I checked at City Grill, which is the reference for high prices, mediocre quality in general, quality very ok for sweets.

“I agree that most of the prices on our coast are insensitive, but these do not seem so, it is cheaper than in many restaurants in Bucharest. Apart from pasta and papayas, I do not seem so high for the coast at the top of the season.”

“Dinner at sea below 100 lei, extremely decent.”

“Honestly. I don’t find it so expensive.”

In Rome, the pasta is cheaper

Other commentators, however, argue that some preparations, such as Easter, are more expensive than in foreign tourist destinations.

I do not understand how in Rome you can eat carbonara pasta at 7 € in the city (guy’s, pecorino, egg) and to say that it is cheap 48 with normal recipe. The prices for us are too high. ”

“Lake Como, Paste you can find from 8 euros, let’s not go with” normal prices “that you are at an Eforie Sud.”

“Now I do not want to be a hater, but it does not seem so exaggerated. I understand that it is Eforie Sud, but 18-19 euros/person is not so bad. In Greece, for example, a dish is 14-25 euros, without dessert, etc. are prices for tourist areas and it is expected.” – someone wrote.

Vrei restaurant? Decartezi de vorbești Alone.

“650 lei per day = 4550 lei for 7 days only food and lounge chair. 6,500 lei 7 days ultra all inclusive in Turkey with plane and transport included. We made a calculation with friends and we only brought out the money from cocktails. Besides you have a show every evening, Darts, Ping-Pong, Volleyball, 3+ Restaurants,”

Reduced budget tourist strategy

Some recommend renting an apartment with a kitchen and cooking on their own, plus the shadows and mats brought from home. “We have come to the conclusion that it is much cheaper and qualitative to rent an apartment with a kitchen, we shop in the big supermarkets in the area as the locals and we prepare them in the kitchen as at home. For the beach we have our own umbrella, refrigerated crate and use rogojini from the raffia over which we put each towel ”writes someone.

The lemonade is, according to many, the “biggest scam” – water with lemon and honey sold at exaggerated prices. “It should cost a maximum of 10 lei”someone wrote.

Although some consider the “normal” prices for the season, others say that culinary experience does not justify costs. Many recognize that, for the same money, abroad they receive high quality and quality services.
