To a question related to the Iohannis – Ciucă tandem at the NATO summit, the prime minister answered:
“Did it seem to you that for ten years Mr. President was an independent, apolitical president, that he did not get involved in the election campaigns with the PNL? Did Mr. Iohannis get involved in the PNL campaigns? Didn’t Mr. Iohannis attack PSD and implicitly me personally? Do you have other expectations at the end of the term? I do not have“.
Marcel Ciolacu also received a question regarding the fact that PNL President Nicolae Ciucă was included by President Iohannis in the delegation to the Washington NATO Summit.
“My mother took me by the hand at the age of 7 and took me to school”said the prime minister.
“Let me remind you how it was governed with PNL and USR, how many fools they did”
The statements were made shortly after the PSD leader announced that he had made an agreement with Nicolae Ciucă, the president of the PNL, according to which the government ministers would not attack.
“I made a rule with the PNL president: ministers not to attack the other party. We hold the government. Let me remind you how it was governed with PNL and USR, how many fools did they make in 8 months of government?”Ciolacu had explained.
The statements were made at a press conference of the party at which it announced the decisions taken by the National Political Council.
Marcel Ciolacu also announced that the PSD will organize a congress on August 24 at which it will choose its new leadership and nominate its candidate for the presidential elections, according to G4Media.
