The former stylist of Princess Diana condemns the “wicked” and “evil” comments to the Duchess of Cambridge
The stylist who worked with Princess Diana for seven years spoke on Instagram to answer “Ugly comments” which were made about Princess Kate.
Sam McKnight, who was Diana’s personal stylist between 1990 and 1997, criticized the people who made unpleasant comments about Kate’s new blond style. McKnight, 70 years old posted on Instagram on Thursday to condemn comments “Bad” and “Evil” to the Duchess of Cambridge.
The public’s comments appeared after the 43 -year -old Wales Princess appeared with Prince William at the Natural History Museum, with blonde hair, which is usually a brown. This is the second time that her new hair style is seen publicly, the photos with lighter shades of blonde hair being published last month, when Kate was surprised in Scotland, going to a religious service near the Balmoral.
Although some fans of the royal family praised the new blond look, many harshly criticized Kate’s hair, causing McKnight to post on Instagram in its defense.
“A woman’s hair is very personal for her: it is armor, defense, trust”
He wrote: “I am shocked, terrified, disappointed and disgusted by all the ugly comments about today’s Wales Princess. A woman’s hair is very personal for her – it is armor, defense, confidence and more.
I can not imagine how badly intentional and empathy are the comments, most of them made, apparently, by other women, attacking another vulnerable young woman, who has no choice, because of the person she married and the role she took over, to bravely face the public.
I’m sure they would prefer to be away from the public’s eyes. She represented wonderful, discreet and altruistic our country, the soft power we still have as a nation.
Cancer affects people differently, but changes the life of everyone. So leave it in peace. Shame on you.“
It is believed that McKnight is a supporter of the royal family, working with Diana for seven years after meeting her at a photo shoot. It is said to have a close connection with the regretted princess, stating once for The Telegraph that he remembered Diana as being “So funny.”
He also told: “I adored her. She was so funny. She was sending me these very dirty birthday greetings from a store on Kensington High Street.”
Princess Kate did not speak public about her new hair style or about the criticisms received.
