In the last few days, dozens of mayors switched from PNL to PSD, in counties such as Teleorman, Mehedinți, Vâlcea or Olt, but there were also departures from among the social democrats in the liberal formation, but at a much lower rate.
The transition of mayors from one party to another has experienced a real influx in recent days. For example, in Teleorman County PSD transferred Cristian Chisac (Bragadiru), Lucian Stoicea (Ciuperceni), Sorin Gherghe (Brânceni) and Marius Stanciu (Drăgăneștii de Vede). The latter is his second departure from one party to another, after previously switching from USR to PNL.
In Mehedinți county, the president of the PSD Mehedinți, who also holds the position of head of the CJ, announced several transitions in his party. Therefore, the mayor of Baia de Aramă, Ionuț Tudorescu, the vice-mayor Mirel Buncianu and the local councilor, Ionuț Victor Băloi, went to the PSD. Also, “the mayor of the commune of Voloiac, Alexandru Ovreiu, the deputy mayor and 5 other councilors who in 2020 ran on the PNL lists, signed up today in the PSD so that after June 9, the entire administrative team will work for the benefit of the citizens, with our support, of PSD organization Mehedinti“, says Aladin Georgescu, in a post on Facebook.
In Prahova, the mayor of Albești (Marian Panait) and the mayor of Valea Doftanei (Lucian Costea) also left for PSD, to run for this party.
And the Liberals managed to make some transfers. The mayors of Deveselu and Traian, the social democrats Nicolae Dobre and Ilie Crâmu, have switched to the PNL and will run for a new mandate, according to a message posted by PNL Olt on Facebook on Friday, along with photos of the two mayors together with the president of the liberal county organization, deputy Gigel Ştirbu. Also in Olt, the entire PNL Grojdibodu organization, including the mayor in office, switched to PSD. In Olt, the county is a fiefdom of the PSD, the social democrats currently have over 100 mayors.
Gorghiu took the people from Cuca and Cocu
The head of PNL Argeș, Alina Gorghiu, announced that she managed to bring more candidates from other parties into the liberal formation. “As of today, the following have joined the team of liberal candidates for the county: Georgel-Cristinel Deaconu, the current mayor of the Cuca commune, Țucă Gheorghe, the mayor of the Cocu commune, Iosif Daniel, the deputy mayor with the duties of mayor of the Aninoasa commune, Alecu Evlampie, the deputy mayor of the commune Brăduleț and Andrei Petrian Cătălin, PNL candidate for Hârtiesti mayor's office“, said Gorghiu, according to a message on his Facebook page.
In Vâlcea county, on the Facebook page of the county organization, Constantin Rădulescu announced that he will run for the mayor of Sinești (Cristian Burleanu), Nicolae Bălcescu (Landor Moșteanu), Milcoiu, Grădiștea (Ilie Boiangiu), Danicei (Dumitru Pirneci), as well as those from Stoenești, Mihăesti, Fărtățești and Dragoești.
The past few days, including the mayor of Petroşani, Tiberiu Iacob Ridzi, announced on Wednesday that he is leaving the National Liberal Party (PNL) and that he will run for the local elections on June 9 from the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
