Raluca Turcan wanted to disprove the information that circulated in the public space on this subject.
“It is regrettable and harmful to the economy that, periodically, information is released in the public space announcing increases in fees and taxes. Whether it is the VAT increase, the income tax increase or other tax increases for the business environment, all these things are nothing more than intoxications launched, in an election year, with the aim of panicking the business environment and Romanians, in general. Easy, easy, the consequence is to create a state of fear and discontent, which populists and extremists take advantage of.
However, the PNL position is firm: neither VAT nor other taxes or fees are increased. We are not raising them this year, or next year after the election – as some say to panic people. It is clear to everyone that the PNL will remain in government after this year’s elections and as a business advocate in government we will not allow these increases“, stated Turcan in a post on Facebook.
Turcan says that considering the world crises that Romania went through, the objective of the PNL was to stabilize the economy.
“We must come to the support of companies and simplify the tax bureaucracy, starting with the procedures for setting up a company and ending with a complete tax digitization, done intelligently. And the pointless and toxic talk of screwing up the tax system must stop immediately! They are not good for the business environment at all.
In parallel with the support for the business environment, it is necessary, in order to restore the confidence of those who bear the brunt of the economy, that where there is evasion, the authorities should put their finger on the wound, and where the law is broken, the culprits should be sanctioned“, Turcan also specified.
