Being in the race for the first title after 23 years, the Giulești team made a wrong step, on Friday evening, in front of Petrol. Rapid and the group from Ploiești finished the game 1-1 in the 26th stage of the football Superleague.
“Primvs Derby”, as it is called by the fans of the two teams, the meeting between the Cherries and the Yellow Wolves was decided by two goals scored by the defenders, following some corners. Prahoven opened the scoring through Paul Papp (72), at the corner kick executed by Tommi Jyry and deflected by Alin Boţogan. Rapid equalized shortly after, through Alexandru Paşcanu (75), after Gheorghe Grozav dangerously diverted the corner executed by Claudiu Petrila for his own goal, and Raul Bălbărău rejected in front.
Chances at both gates
In the first half, each team had a notable opportunity. Kader Keita (21) sent a shot from 35 meters, but the Bălbarău goalkeeper rejected it. Petrolul had a dangerous counterattack (41), but Valentin Gheorghe shot over the goal from a good position. In the second half, Bălbarău intervened very well on the weak restarts of Daniel Paraschiv (57) and Leo Bolgado (67), while Ricardinho (72) was close to surprising goalkeeper Dejan Iliev, who made his Rapid debut on this occasion. Marco Dulca (Petrolul) easily received the second yellow card at the end of the game (90+6), for a foul in the middle of the field.

Rapid, who has only one win in the last four home matches (two defeats and a draw), missed the chance to climb to first place. Petrolul is undefeated in three stages, in which it drew away with Dinamo and Rapid and defeated Unirea Slobozia in Ploiesti. In the round, Rapid won 1-0.
