Andrei Rațiu got involved in a gesture of solidarity with two teammates from Rayo Vallecano, after several supporters of the club were cheated and lost money before the UEFA Europa Conference League final in Leipzig.
The three players contributed financially so that fans affected by the scam could travel and attend the game. According to the Spanish press, the initiative came after several supporters were left without tickets and without the amounts paid as a result of a fraud, as.com reports.

The Spanish newspaper writes that the story of Enrique, 72, and his son Raúl went viral last week. The two, father and son, lifelong Rayo subscribers, had booked a coach trip to Leipzig, but it turned out to be a scam. The fans of the club mobilized and managed to recover the 500 euros that the two had paid in advance and to raise, in just one hour, the money necessary for Enrique to fulfill his dream. However, as the hours passed, it was found out that there were several people affected by this trip with the bus that never existed, according to news.ro.

That’s why a crowdfunding campaign was launched, again, in order not to leave these Vallecas supporters behind, under the slogan “No Rayo supporter will be left out at the final in Leipzig”. After the launch, small donations flowed in, until, late on Thursday evening, the players of the Rayo Vallecano team, aware of the situation, went into action and demonstrated their quality not only on the field of play, but also off it.
Sergio Camello contributed 2,000 euros, Andrei Raţiu with 1,000 euros and Daniel Cárdenas with 400 euros. An “anonymous” person donated another 500 euros and it is speculated that he could also be a footballer. Thanks to these generous donations, the sum of €6,362 was reached. Objective accomplished.
Andrei Raţiu will play on May 27, in Leipzig, in the Conference League final, Crystal Palace – Rayo Vallecano.
