Young Romanians continue to purchase homes and have become increasingly attentive to details when they decide to take this step. Thus, they are the ones who set the trends in 2024, claim real estate advisors.

According to specialists, there are certain criteria that customers take into account when choosing to buy an apartment or a house.
Young people pay more and more attention to these details when purchasing a home
Young people in Romania are among those who purchase, annually, the most homes at the national level, claim real estate advisors. Even if they have to use a loan to buy the much-dreamed-of apartment, this is not an impediment.
At the same time, specialists in the field claim that young people also have certain criteria by which they select the home they buy and that the trends for the year 2024 have already been established.
“Young people are looking for more spacious homes, with an area of more than 60 square meters. Most of the time, they turn to three-room apartments, taking into account the establishment of a family. Thus, many of them tell us that a bedroom will be used for a future child. At the same time, the customers we have are interested in parking spaces, wanting to purchase one or two, as there are many couples who have two cars. Storage boxes are another requirement of young buyers, who need more and more space to store things they don't use at certain times of the year“, explains Bogdan Blaj, real estate advisor.
What features should the ideal apartment have?
In addition to the fact that the apartment must come with at least one parking space and a spacious storage box, young customers have other important criteria that they take into account.
Air conditioning is no longer considered a fad, becoming a necessity, and the colors inside the home are also carefully selected.
“Many young people want the apartment to come directly with air conditioning, so that they are spared an effort in the future. I noticed that they are very attentive to details such as interior doors. Many of them opt for light colors, which give the impression that the home is brighter. At the same time, young people are looking for homes with as large windows as possible, in order to have natural light inside their apartments or houses“, said the real estate advisor from Iesa.
The positioning of the home, less important
Real estate specialists claim that the location of the home is no longer such an important criterion for young buyers, considering that, most of the time, they own their own car.
“We have clients who choose to purchase apartments located on the outskirts, in new blocks, even if they are further from the points of interest in the city. They own cars and manage to move very easily, they no longer depend on public transport. At the same time, the prices in these areas of the city are more advantageous“, concluded Bogdan Blaj, real estate advisor.
