FC Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup in football after defeating arch-rival Real Madrid 5-2 (4-1) on Sunday evening in the final held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid, the champion of Spain and holder of the Supercup, opened the scoring in this Clasico, through the Frenchman Kylian Mbappe (5), but the Catalans managed to score four times before the break, through Lamine Yamal (22), Robert Lewandowski (36 – penalty ), Raphinha (39) and Alejandro Balde (45+10).

Barcelona’s good period continued after the break, when Raphinha raised the score to 5-1 (48). The goalkeeper of the Blaugrana team, the Polish Wojciech Szczesny, was eliminated in the min. 57 for a foul on Mbappe, but Real only had the strength to limit the proportions of the score, Rodrygo (60) scored the other Madrid goal, from a free kick.
If Hansi Flick won his first trophy at FC Barcelona, this is the 15th Supercup of Spain in the record of the Catalan club, the most decorated in the competition. Barca succeeds even rival Real Madrid (13 trophies), who won 4-1 in the final against FC Barcelona last year. For Carlo Ancelotti, it was the second nightmare match in a row against the great rival, after the Catalans won 4-0 in the championship.
