A real scandal started between some of the REPER parliamentarians and two USR elected officials, all starting from a bill that the former say was copied from them by those in the party led by Cătălin Drula.
The party led by Drula is accused of plagiarism by elected officials from Cioloș's REPER – Colaj Adevărul
REPER reports that last year on February 15, REPER deputies Simina Tulbure (Diaspora) and Oana Cambera (Ilfov) submitted a legislative initiative regarding the reform in the field of identity documents that contains essential provisions for Romanians in the Diaspora, such as electronic identity cards with domicile abroad, the possibility of requesting these e-books at the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania and the establishment by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the documents proving the address of residence.
“Pthe proposal was adopted by the Senate with 106/107 votes for May 2023. Yesterday, USR, through Diaspora parliamentarians Iulian Lorincz and Radu Mihail, submitted a legislative initiative that identically copies the provisions of the project for Romanian citizens abroad“, the formation shows.
“A year and not two days later, my former colleagues, the USR Diaspora parliamentarians, had a new idea for a legislative proposal: identity cards with domicile abroad, with exactly the same provisions as in the project that I had already submitted and passed by the Senate. You cannot be a plagiarist and shout the same thing. This is one of the reasons why I left. Many speeches empty of content, 0 actions for the Diaspora and for the benefit of millions of Romanian citizens abroad. After the “thieves” howled in the Parliament, with their anti-plagiarism projects and speeches…that's the word, they were caught red-handed.“, declared the diaspora deputy Simina Tulbure.
“I would like to see a democratic opposition working together on fundamental issues, not joining the AUR in copying legislative projects and wasting energy. What's even funnier is the fact that my former colleagues are the first in the fight against plagiarism, not legislative initiatives”Simina Tulbure wrote on Facebook.
REPER, appeared after the split of USR
The REPER formation appeared after several parliamentarians and MEPs left USR, especially in 2022, when Dacian Cioloș announced the separation from the Union. Currently, the management of REPER is two-headed, the co-presidents being Ramona Strugariu and Dragoș Pâslaru.
