Watkins, 48 ​​years old, was sentenced to Northern England prison.

“At 9:39 am in the morning (Saturday), the police were called by HMP Wakefield staff, who reported an attack on a prisoner,” said West Yorkshire police in a statement, writes News.

“The emergency services intervened, but the man was declared dead on the spot a little later,” states the statement, without giving Watkins’ name.

According to the press, he would have had the jugular cut.

The police did not immediately respond to Reuters’s request to comment.

Watkins was convicted in 2013 after pleading guilty to 13 charges. He recognized two attempts of rape, sexual aggression on a minor under 13, complicity in sexual aggression on a minor under 13 years, conspiracy to the rape of a minor under 13 years and conspiracy to sexual aggression on another minor under 13 years.
