It is about the introduction of performance indicators not only for hospital managers, but also for the department heads. The decision comes in the context of the scandal that broke out at the Floreasca Hospital Center, where a burns patient was transferred to Belgium infected with multiple bacteria, including Candida Auris.
“Being a manager in a public hospital is not a privilege. It is a responsibility. And a huge one,” He sent Rogobete in a Facebook post, in which he stressed that the real health reform also means taking responsibility by the medical leaders, at all levels of management.
He added that although some managers have shown that performance may be done in other hospitals “The management is completely missing.”
The minister also spoke of the responsibilities of the department heads, which he considers “Small managers” which directly influence the quality of the medical act and the path of patients.
“Today, there is no clear evaluation of their performance. This has to change rapidly. We will introduce performance indicators not only for hospital managers, but also for the heads of section”, he stressed, announcing that the introduction of clear, objective and evaluable criteria follows, so that each medical leader is responsible for his team and his results.
“The health reform does not mean only new buildings and equipment. It also means a change of attitude and responsibility in each level of management”, concludes rogobete.
Floreasca scandal
The announcement comes against the background of an investigation triggered at the Center for Serious Arcii at Floreasca Hospital, after the Ministry of Health confirmed the presence of the Candida Auris bacteria in the section.
The hospitalizations were suspended, and the medical unit received a fine of 30,000 lei, as well as the cleaning company, also 30,000 lei, for serious hygiene irregularities.
At the same time, the non -compliant ventilation in the burning compartment has been identified as a major cause of the risk of infections. Currently, decontamination measures, water filters and limitation of visitors access are carried out.
Rogobete requests the resignation of the head of the Section
Rogobete publicly accused the head of the Center for Basid Irresponsibility and Care, asking for his resignation, stating that he is still on leave, although the unit goes through a severe crisis.
“The arrogance and indolence are incompatible with the professional dignity, regardless of the university title. (…) There is no place for suggestions or policies on my part: I ask for the immediate resignation of this section!”, the minister said.
