Romania defeated Canada in the second match of the World Team Table Tennis Championships, with a decisive 3-0. The tricolors are in first place in Group 7, with maximum points after the first two duels. If in yesterday's meeting with Sweden our girls did not lose a single set, now, against some naturalized Asians, they were defeated in only one.

Eliza Samara was our first representative in the game in Busan. Eliza went 3-1 in sets against Ivy Liao, 11-5, 13-11, 5-11, 11-6. It was also the only set of tricolors lost in the duel with Canada. The star Bernadette Szocs played Romania's second match. Our most valuable player went 3-0 against Jessie Xu, 11-2, 11-6, 11-3, losing only 11 points and being led only once throughout the match. Adina Diaconu did not let herself down either. In the match with Natalie Chan, she also lost 11 points, winning 11-1, 11-2, 11-8 and bringing Romania a clear victory, with only one lost set in total.
Thus, after the matches with Sweden and Canada, the “tricolors” have the maximum score, being in first place in Group 7, one of which Serbia and Singapore are also part. The first place in the group at the World Table Tennis Championships leads directly to the “quarters”, while the 2nd and 3rd positions go to the round of 16 of the competition hosted by South Korea.
