Romanian settled in England: “Here the children love going to school. They don't have a backpack to break their spine.” The reaction of compatriots

A Romanian who lives in Great Britain went viral on TikTok with a post in which he says that the little ones love going to school in this country, they don't have heavy schoolbags to carry around and they do their homework at school.

Ionuț, a Romanian settled in England, posted a video clip on TikTok, in which he makes a comparison between the Romanian and British education systems. The man has two children, settled in Manchester and works as a taxi driver.

“I want to bring up this matter of school, brothers. England versus Romania. You also know what happens in Romania at school and what happens in England. It's a very big difference. I hope that you will also share these things online, that maybe it will be adopted here. Here in England it's very simple: children love going to school.

So they don't have 15-20 kilograms in their backpack to break their spine. I do homework in class, at the end of classes, after-school and so on. And if they have homework, I don't burden them at home with a lot of tasks. So everything is relaxed and learning to the maximum capacity.

Try to remember, talk to the people who are here in England and you will see the differences between Romania and England at school, for your children”, the Romanian told.

“Well, I'm going because I'm not doing anything!”

As expected, our compatriots wanted to comment on Ionuț's post. Some were right, while others believe that more books are made in Romania than in England.

“Wrong!!! In Romania they go to school, that's why I end up with a profession that I love, in England there is a lot of disorder in schools, drugs, violence!”, wrote a Romanian woman.

“Well, I'm going because I'm not doing anything!”, commented dryly another compatriot.

“I agree with you, my son is in 7th grade high school, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw what he does in high school, it doesn't even compare to Romania. He no longer wants to go to school in the country”, it's someone else's opinion.

“I moved my child after the ninth grade exam to Romania, and now he is in his tenth year here. They were studying fractions in mathematics, which are studied here in the third grade. I love going because the school curriculum is very easy”, scored another Romanian.

“I assure you it is not like that. In middle school they have a backpack full of notebooks. Plus homework for another 2-3 hours after I get home,” someone wrote.

“My 5 and a half year old can read and write perfectly, no stress and no hassles, very good school in England” another compatriot thinks.

“Why are the children who return to Romania to school two years ago? Because they learn more there?”, concludes another Romanian woman.
