Romanian students shone at the International Physics Olympiad in Iran. Romania won three gold and two silver medals

Romania won three gold and two silver medals at the 54th edition of the International Physics Olympiad, held in Isfahan, Iran. The Ministry of Education proudly announced the exceptional success of Romanian students, who once again confirmed the scientific potential of our country.

Between July 21-29, young physics enthusiasts from 46 countries competed in solving complex problems. The Romanian team, made up of five students and two mentors, achieved remarkable results, ranking at the top of the competition.

The gold medal students are Andrei Dragomir, Alexandru Momoiu and Ionuț Stan, all of whom are students of the International Theoretical High School of Informatics in Bucharest. Mendel Mendelsohn and Felix Tudose won silver medals.

Romania participated with a full team (5 students and 2 leaders), and the results obtained by the Romanian students were exceptional, keeping Romania at the top of the international ranking”. the Ministry of Education sent on its Facebook page.

The Romanian batch was led by Prof. Dr. Delia Davidescu, from the International Theoretical High School of Informatics, Bucharest and Prof. Univ. Dr. Sebastian Popescu, from the Faculty of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi.
