The Greek turned to the Forum Thassos Facebook group to find out who the Romanians are who ate and drank in his tavern but “forgot” to pay. Camera photos of two of the adults also appear in the post.
“Hi, lovely group at Sakis Sykoudis Taverna. We would like to ask for your help. On Thursday evening, these two ate in our tavern with their families (total of 5 adults and 6 children) and forgot to pay. If any of you know them, please contact them or contact us so we can remind them to stop by to settle their bill. Enjoy your holiday”wrote the Greek patron.
The reactions of netizens were not long in coming. “Do we know what language they speak?”, asked the group administrator. “Romanian”, he was answered. “It could be Moldovan, it is very similar. Maybe the car numbers can solve the mystery“, insisted the administrator, but received assurances that it would be Romanians.
“Did you report it to the police? It’s still an island, I suspect they have other means of identification”, someone asked. “Yes, I have already contacted the police“, announced the Greek. “I’m sorry for you! I’m sorry there are such tourists! They must be punished!”one lady wrote. “They ate or just drank? Looks like they left with full bellies”, someone else asked. “They ate and then they drank”, came the reply.
“It’s not difficult, we’re at sea”
“There should be pictures of them boarding the ferry!”, someone suggested. “Very good idea, outstanding! Not to board the ferry until the matter is resolved“, another gave him the truth.
“Give these pictures to several restaurants, maybe they’ll recognize them and call the police”, was another idea, while someone else wanted to know how the 11 managed to deceive the vigilance of the waiters. “It is not difficult. We are at sea. A lot of tourists eat, and at the same time they go to the beach running after the children, so 1-2 people sit at the table, etc. We let our customers enjoy their meal and holiday, we don’t like to stress them out”answered the Greek.
“Shame on them if they know what shame is. If they don’t know how to eat the next meal wherever it is“, wrote another outraged internet user. “Notify the police. I’m detaining them on the way out of Greece!”another suggested.
