The American actor of Romanian origin Sebastian Stan has confirmed that he will be part of the cast of the film “The Batman Part II”, directed by Matt Reeves. Stan will play the character Harvey Dent, the prosecutor who becomes the famous antagonist Two-Face.
The news puts an end to the speculation that has emerged in recent months about the actor’s role in the new film. Stan made the revelation in an interview with French publication Le Journal de Dimanche while talking about his film projects.
“I can’t even say anything about The Batman: Part II, by Matt Reeves, in which I play Harvey Dent”said the actor.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2028, and shooting has already begun. So far, several names have been linked to the project, but Sebastian Stan’s confirmation is one of the most important pieces of information about the new production.
Harvey Dent is one of Batman’s most famous adversaries. In the DC universe, the prosecutor ends up transforming into Two-Face after suffering a trauma that disfigures half of his face and radically changes his personality. It remains to be seen if the transformation will actually happen in “The Batman Part II” or if director Matt Reeves will keep Two-Face’s appearance for a possible sequel.
Before Sebastian Stan, the character Harvey Dent was played by actors such as Aaron Eckhart in “The Dark Knight”Tommy Lee Jones in “Batman Forever” and Nicholas D’Agosto in the series “gothic“.
There are other big names in the rumored cast for the new film. Charles Dance could play Christopher Dent, Harvey’s father, while Brian Tyree Henry is attached to play Detective Harvey Bullock. Another rumor points to Scarlett Johansson as a possible antagonist, in a reinterpreted version of the Poison Ivy character.
For Sebastian Stan, the role represents an important new appearance in a large-scale production. The actor is also involved in “Avengers: Doomsday”which he said is done in a different way than regular productions, with the actors given limited information about the script.
