Simion mobilizes his supporters: “The country no longer exists! Romania is rising and no one can stop us this time!”

AUR President George Simion launched a scathing attack on the government on Saturday, claiming Romania is facing poverty, accelerated depopulation and dramatic price increases. Simion stated that the country is “in ruin”, and Mehedinți county pays energy bills “higher than in Germany”, despite local resources.

In front of AUR Mehedinți members, Simion spoke about a “reality ignored by politicians at the center”, describing the situation in small communities as critical:

“Young people are leaving, pensioners are barely surviving, families are living in fear of every incoming bill. Prices are rising, wages are stagnating, and the state has come to charge you for the water that flows from above, for the sun or for breathing soon,” he said, according to Agerpres.

Simion criticized the economic situation of Mehedințiu, considering it abnormal for a county with energy production to pay utilities at high prices:

“In a country where you produce energy, how is it possible to have higher bills than in Germany? How is it possible that Mehedințiul, with hydropower plants, with the Danube, with huge tourist potential, is pushed into poverty by political decisions made in Bucharest?”, said the AUR leader, present at Drobeta-Turnu Severin.

He accused the Bolojan Government of adopting policies that generate price increases, inflation and economic instability.

“No more time for silence!”

Simion also launched a mobilizing call to AUR sympathizers in Oltenia:

“There is mourning in the country, there is ruin in the country. The country no longer exists! You can’t just have islands of prosperity in Bucharest, Timișoara or Cluj, and for the rest be employed by the state as a solution or live off what they send the children abroad!…Olteni, there is no time for fear, there is no time for silence. Romania is rising and no one can stop us this time!”

The event took place within the AUR Mehedinți county conference, where deputy Eduard Koler was appointed president of the county organization.
