Sorin Grindeanu sent, on Saturday, a message on the occasion of the Independence Day of the United States, which this year celebrates 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
In a post published on Facebook, the social democratic leader wanted to praise the role that the United States has in promoting democratic values, something pointed out several times by Donald Trump in his speech on the same occasion, and he sent congratulations to the American people.

250 years after its founding, the USA proves that a correct vision can propel you into the first echelon of powerful states, regardless of historical contexts.
Happy Birthday America!
Happy Independence Day!”, wrote Sorin Grindeanu.
This year’s anniversary has special significance for the United States, which is celebrating a quarter of a millennium since independence. The festivities were opened by President Donald Trump with a speech at Mount Rushmore in which he praised the history of the United States and described America as “the most successful, the most accomplished and the most exceptional nation” from human history.
The July 4 schedule was, however, affected by extremely high temperatures that gripped much of the United States, causing authorities to cancel or postpone parades, concerts and fireworks displays.
In Romania, the anniversary was marked at the end of June with an official reception organized by the United States Embassy in Bucharest, as part of the program dedicated to the 250th anniversary of US independence. The event was attended by President Nicușor Dan and Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who gave speeches in which they highlighted the importance of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States and the close relationship between the two countries.
